Awning fabrics for vertical shading

How awning fabrics behave in a vertical position

A vertical awning creates a sense of security and comfort: it keeps out the sun and wind, protects against blinding light and prying eyes - and thus ensures a pleasant, sheltered feeling of space in your favourite outdoor spot.

To ensure that it works reliably, the awning fabric is stretched vertically. The material is therefore permanently under tension - and this sometimes leads to slight visual changes, which are completely normal and do not impair the effect of the system.

Small differences - big impact remains

  • A light grey rectangular fabric surface with a smooth texture.

    V-shaped shafts

With wider systems or façade solutions, the weight of the fabric itself can create fine, symmetrical waves. These often run from top to bottom and are a natural consequence of the material tension - not noticeable, but technically unavoidable.

  • Close-up of a light grey fabric, possibly a awning fabric, displaying smooth textures and subtle folds.

    Cross impressions

Fine lines may appear where the fabric is connected to the shaft or the seams. These are caused by the winding and unwinding of the fabric - a normal effect that neither disturbs the appearance in the long term nor reduces the quality.

  • Beige fabric with a sleek black frame, suggesting a mounted sun protection solution.

    Wave formation

With zip-guided cloths, slight creases may form along the side edges. This is because the fabric and zip move at different speeds when they are wound up. The next time the zip is pulled out, the fabric may then temporarily curl slightly. This is due to the material and does not affect use in any way.

Beautifully protected - day after day

Even if awning fabrics for vertical shading do not always appear completely smooth, they remain technically precise, permanently beautiful and reliable in their function.

They provide privacy, wind protection and a noticeably pleasant light - and turn your outdoor space into a place where you can feel comfortable at all times.
