Terrace awning for a residential building in Messel
The red Opal Design II LED cassette awning from weinor plays a key role in a modern residential building in Messel near Darmstadt in southern Hesse: as a high-quality sun protection awning with a timeless design, it provides pleasant shade. At the same time, it provides a strong colour accent on the façade. With its dimmable LED lighting, the awning spreads an atmospheric light in the evening.
After completing his passive house in 2014, owner Oliver Nixdorf used a parasol on his 30m2 terrace by the pool for a few years. However, this solution proved to be less comfortable in the long term and the shaded area was also clearly too small.
The Opal Design II LED cassette awning from weinor met all the owner's requirements in terms of size, quality and design. Oliver Nixdorf opted for a 26m2 one-piece system. The classic awning was brought to the client's attention by weinor specialist dealer Tomasulo. "The Opal Design II is a top product that we are happy to recommend due to its resilience and design," explains the shading specialist.
Safety and resilience: strong arguments in favour of a strong awning
The client was impressed by a wide range of product highlights, such as the patented crescent display, which signals that the closed awning is reliably protected from moisture and dirt. But the weinor Longlife arm with particularly resilient high-tech strap and the wind uplift protection, which prevents the awning from being raised when the wind blows underneath, were also strong arguments in favour of the cassette awning.
Moody atmosphere with integrated LED lighting
In the evening, the LED lighting integrated into the cassette awning provides an atmospheric warm white light. With a service life of around 30,000 hours, the LEDs are particularly energy-efficient. Just like the electric awning with motor, the lighting can be conveniently operated using the weinor BiConnect awning control system. The LED spotlights can even be dimmed continuously.
