Pergola awnings for the Milser country house
The hotel of former world weightlifting champion and Olympic gold medallist Rolf Milser was fitted with a three-part PergoTex pergola awning from weinor. The weatherproof construction allows the outdoor area to be used permanently.
The Landhaus Milser between Duisburg and Düsseldorf is not only owned by a winner, there have also been many winners among the guests - for example the Italian national team, who stayed here for six weeks during the 2006 football World Cup. Many celebrities such as the Prince of Monaco and numerous German politicians have also stayed here.
Green oasis in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region
There are plenty of reasons to spend time in the suburbs of the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital. Firstly, there is the outstanding hospitality of Rolf Milser and his business partner Antonio Pelle, who runs the hotel. The trained restaurateur is responsible for the excellent, traditional Italian cuisine, among other things. The location also has it all: despite its proximity to the Düsseldorf metropolitan region and the Ruhr area, the hostel with its 57 rooms and three suites in a cosy country house style is an oasis of peace - including a lake on the doorstep. Nevertheless, you can quickly reach the trade fair, the airport or various city centres.
Pergola awning with reliable weather protection
For some time now, there has been another reason why it is worth taking a break in the south of Duisburg. Rolf Milser has upgraded his spacious terrace with a view of the lake with a 23.5 metre wide pergola awning construction. It offers reliable protection from the weather, but can also be opened up completely so that guests can enjoy the sun and fresh air. "We wanted to offer our guests the opportunity to be outside and enjoy the view even in bad weather. The pergola awning is just the thing for this," says owner Rolf Milser happily. He should know, because he previously had the PergoTex from weinor installed at home as a test version, so to speak. The enthusiasm was so great that he also wanted to use it for his hotel.
Added value for the client
Christian Kroll gave him the idea. In addition to traditional interior fittings, the master carpenter also specialises in the installation of weather protection systems for terraces and balconies. He has been a partner of weinor for many years and is convinced of the advantages of the pergola awning. "The flexible construction gives the patio real added value and increases the permanently usable catering area. PergoTex also has an elegant look and is extremely wind-resistant and weatherproof," says patio expert Kroll.
Complete solution with glass construction, vertical awnings and heating system
To provide hotel guests with all-round protection, the system was also fitted with glass substructure elements. They prevent driving rain and wind from making it uncomfortable from the side. When the sun shines again, the glazing can be easily slid open. If the highly stable PVC cover is then opened using a hand-held transmitter, a full open-air feeling is guaranteed. No hotel guest has to sit in the dark in the evenings - this is guaranteed by the integrated LED lighting. The outdoor area can also be used in the cooler months with the weinor Tempura heating system. The system is also equipped with VertiTex vertical awnings. They prevent guests from being dazzled when the sun is low in the sky. Just like the pergola awning, the lighting, heating and vertical awnings can be controlled by radio, and the lighting and heating can even be dimmed.
Sophisticated design
In addition to all the functional benefits, the design aspect also played an important role in the choice of patio construction. Rolf Milser is aware of the importance of the external appearance, after all he was voted the most elegant weightlifter in the world by the Soviet magazine Sputnik in 1983. Clear frame shapes and the aluminium material give the pergola awning a high-quality appearance. In addition, every individual taste can be catered for from a wide range of frame and cover colours.
