Patio roof on a detached house in Leverkusen
A client family from Leverkusen wanted to equip their patio with reliable sun and weather protection. They opted for a combination of patio awning and patio roof with conservatory awning.
When the homeowners bought the building, built in 1968, nine years ago, a lot of renovation work had to be done. Once much of the interior had been renovated, they turned their attention to the exterior, in particular the sun protection. This was also urgently needed. Old awnings were already in place. But their appearance had suffered greatly over the years. However, the family did not want to do without sun protection, as the south-west facing living room and adjoining terrace would cause the interior to heat up unpleasantly in the summer months. But what was the right solution? Should the large terrace be completely covered to create a large, weather-protected area? Or would one or more awnings suffice?
Solid patio roofing plus conservatory awning
After extensive consultation with weinor's specialist partner Fortuna Wintergarten from Langenfeld-Reusrath, the client family decided in favour of a combined solution. On the one hand, they opted for the Terrazza patio roof from weinor. The sturdy aluminium construction with glass roof provides reliable protection from wind and weather. As a result, there is now a cosy spot on the patio where you can sit outside even in the summer rain. The roof was supplemented with the Sottezza II conservatory awning, which is positioned underneath, so that it doesn't get too warm under the roof when the sun is shining. The decorative interior shading is elegant, slim and visually unobtrusive.
High-quality patio awning with click
However, the covered area should not be too large so that more natural light illuminates the interior. So Opal Design II, another high-quality patio awning, was used. It is particularly suitable for shading large areas and is characterised by its timeless, classic design. Its special feature: the side crescents close with an audible click, indicating that the awning has been reliably closed. This means that the fabric is optimally protected against moisture and dirt.
Visually as if from a single mould
Both components fulfil another important purpose: a uniform visual appearance. The conservatory and patio awning fabrics are both a subtle matt white colour. And the two frames are also as if cast from a single mould, namely in a dark anthracite. This gives the entire patio construction a stylish and harmonised impression. This is no coincidence - the manufacturer weinor attaches great importance to the colour quality of its fabrics and profiles. In-house powder coating ensures the highest quality for the frame colours and the uniform appearance of the various weinor products.
Clever accessories: vertical awnings, LED lighting and radio control
Another advantage of the weinor solutions is the clever accessories: LED lighting is integrated into both awning cassettes. It bathes the patio in a warm white, atmospheric light. The Leverkusen family also wanted protection against the slanting evening sun. This is provided by the two VolantPlus from weinor. They are located at the front of the front profile of the patio awning and on the frame of the Terrazza patio roof. This prevents the patio users from being dazzled. The two VolantPlus also provide reliable privacy protection. Everything is controlled via a radio system. The awnings, valances and lighting can be conveniently operated with just one hand-held transmitter. The LEDs can even be dimmed so that patio lighting can be customised to suit individual requirements.
