A pergola awning combines the protective function of a classic awning with lateral guidance and a stable construction. This means it retains its shape even in windy conditions and protects against sun, rain and prying eyes - ideal for larger areas or exposed locations. Some models can also be used as free-standing awnings.

A louvred roof is a very stable and weatherproof version of a pergola where you can precisely control ventilation, light and shade using rotating slats. The Artares from weinor is a slatted roof for the patio or freestanding in the garden made of easy-care powder-coated aluminium.

Many models are rainproof or weatherproof. The weinor PergoTex II offers wind-resistant textile weather protection that can be opened when the sun is shining. The Plaza Viva also keeps out light rain so that a short shower does not interrupt your time outside. With the Artares slatted roof, the rotating aluminium slats can be closed to form a rain-resistant canopy when it rains, providing practical weather protection.

The Plaza Viva has a closed cassette in which the awning fabric and technology are integrated and protected. The fabric is extended via lateral guide rails - stable, windproof and ideal even in light rain.
The weinor PergoTex II, on the other hand, works according to the convertible principle: its PVC-coated fabric can be opened or closed completely using a motor. When closed, it is windproof and waterproof, and when open it gives a feeling of freedom in the open air.

In most cases, a made-to-measure pergola awning or a slatted aluminium roof does not require planning permission. In some cases, there may be exceptions, e.g. due to special building regulations, listed buildings or large installations.
