At City Outlet Bad Münstereifel 53 awnings from weinor advertise brand products and provide shade in front of the shop windows.

The outlet business has been booming for some time. It is mainly popular because consumers can buy discounted brand products conveniently in one central place. However the concept of the City Outlet Bad Münstereifel was new in 2014. The centre was not built on green field but an entire town centre was declared an outlet. This was possible because the cosy little town in the Eifel region had been suffering from vacant buildings and falling property prices for quite some time. Local investors initiated the innovative sales concept, which was to bring more life into the town again and improve the municipal financial situation. Gradually the operating company bought up the vacant apartments and shops and leased them to brand companies. They are now distributed through the entire Medieval town centre.

weinor Livona awning: elegant and unobtrusive design solution

An eye-catching recognition factor was essential to make it clear that the individual brands are part of the City Outlet. Classic sun protection was chosen. All the sport, fashion and designer brands belonging to the City Outlet should be distinguished by awnings in the same colour. The company Efra Lichtwerbung, which had already fitted the City Outlet with advertising facilities, information systems and street furniture, contacted weinor, the market leader for sun and rain protection in northern Europe. It offered its Livona design awning as the ideal solution. The advantage: with its slimline look it inconspicuously fits into the historical town centre. The high-quality fabric can be printed on easily and the client was able to select the right pattern from more than 150 fabric colours.

A whole lot of fabric

The Livona open awning impresses due to its clean lines and it being paired down to its essential parts. This puristic sun protection appears to float in the air, with little obstructing your view of all the fabric. Beautifully-shaped aluminium caps, an ultraslim drop profile and an almost invisible support pipe complete the high-quality look. Livona was therefore just the right choice. Those responsible in Bad Münstereifel opted for an elegant anthracite grey as the distinctive colour for the City Outlet shops. The version with roof was also chosen so that the fabric is also reliably protected from the weather. 26 Livona awnings now decorate the cityscape. A second sun protection solution from weinor was also used, the Aruba droparm awning. It now provides shade for part of the shop window. Aruba has unobtrusive, flat guide rails, a wind lock safety device and high spring tension for taut fabric, making it a visual highlight for any shopping arcade.

Successful flagship

Outlet manager, Lars Wenninga, is extremely satisfied with the awnings solution from weinor. "It was important to us that the awnings subtly fade into the look as part of the corporate identity on the one hand and give an impression of quality on the other hand. We have definitely succeeded in this with the awnings from weinor." The in the meantime more than 40 outlet brands are soon going to be expanded by new partners. Then more Livonas and Arubas are sure to be hanging in front of the shop fronts in picturesque Bad Münstereifel again soon.
